Saturday, 6:00 a.m. It's my birthday! It's my birthday! Today, the whole family is coming to celebrate... and it'll also be their first time seeing the new house. And what a place to gather: a large, tree-lined lot, plenty of privacy, a covered deck, the park just across the way, and room for kids, grown-ups and the dog to enjoy it their own way. Their first birthday party here unfolds in the addendum. Fair warning: you might start picturing yourself here.

It's my birthday! It's my birthday!

It's 6:03 a.m. Saturday morning, and their daughter is already jumping on the bed.

Yes! Happy birthday!
But... it's also Saturday, Dad answers, still half asleep.
Come on, up you get! Everyone's coming today!

And not just for her birthday. It'll be the first time the whole family gets to see their new home.

The coffee is brewing, preparations are underway, and the dog heads out to its fenced enclosure. Outside, trees surround the large, peaceful and private lot. A firepit over there? A volleyball or badminton net? Cornhole when friends come over? There's plenty of room here for all kinds of plans.

The doorbell rings. The grandparents arrive, followed by brothers, sisters, cousins... Grandma even stopped at La Mie Bretonne for some good bread.

The kids quickly disappear into the wooded area outside. A few branches found on the ground and today's project is underway. The older ones grab their BMX bikes and head to Parc Brodeur, right across the street. You can even keep an eye on them from the house.

Out on the deck, the BBQ is going. Grandma watches the little ones while everyone else chats... until the kids suddenly come running back.

It's raining!

Really?

Under the large covered section of the deck, no one had even noticed. So lunch stays outside. A few raindrops certainly weren't going to decide where everyone ate.

The rain stops.

POTATO! IT'S POTATO!

A fox has just appeared out back. He takes off as soon as the kids spot him... and they race back toward the woods almost as quickly.

The day starts to slow down, and a few curious guests continue the tour.

Wow... the bathroom connects right to your bedroom?
Yep!

Walking back through the living room, everyone's eyes naturally drift upward to the cathedral ceiling and those large windows.

Then Grandpa asks the question:

So... what about your garage?
Come on, I'll show you.

His brother-in-law joins them. Crossing the yard, he points to the concrete pad.

What's that for?
A hot tub. That's definitely in the plans!

Off to the garage, where Dad proudly shows them how he's organized everything, then the firewood neatly stacked in the shed...

Meanwhile, Mom lights a fire and settles into the living room with her sister. Grandma is still enjoying the deck with the kids. Outside, they've taken over the yard again. Inside, the two sisters have taken over the family gossip.

Eventually, the cars leave one by one... except for one little cousin who's staying the night. The two girls head downstairs to play in the lower-level bedroom as the house slowly grows quiet again.

First birthday party here: a success.

You made it all the way to the end? Maybe you can already picture yourself here a little. For the rest, you'll have to come see it in person.
