Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean is located northeast of the Mauricie and west of the Côte-Nord. It has a population of about 280,000 inhabitants. The region is named after Lac-Saint-Jean, a 1000-km2 lake that allows fishing and recreotouristic activities. Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean benefits from 11 lakes and 15 rivers, including the Saguenay River, which flows into the St. Lawrence River. Saguenay, the most densely populated city, follows the river of the same name. A true demographic hub, it is teeming with attractions and a vast array of activities.
