Discover Centre-du-Québec

Located south of the St. Lawrence, between the river and the Appalachians, the Centre-du-Québec has a population of about 240,000 inhabitants. Drummondville, the region's capital, is a lively city that enjoys a covetable quality of life along with several events and attractions, including the Village québécois d'antan and the Mondial des Cultures. In addition, it benefits from a public beach and a 183-km bicycle network.

The Centre-du-Québec boasts buildings with a vast array of architectural styles, which convey the region's rich architectural heritage. For instance, the Cinéma Capitol, downtown Drummondville, is an Art Deco structure built in 1937. Let's not forget the Résidence des frères du Sacré-Coeur de Victoriaville and the Académie d'Inverness, a neo-Italian inspired school erected in 1889 in the municipality of Inverness.

Nature lovers seeking lush greenery will gladly explore Parc Marie-Victorin in Kingsey Falls along with the numerous ecological and regional parks of the Centre-du-Québec. As for wildlife and plant enthusiasts, they will enjoy discovering the region's biodiversity at the Centre de la biodiversité du Québec in Bécancour, the Centre d'interprétation de la canneberge in Saint-Louis-de-Blandford, and the Circuit ornithologique du Centre-du-Québec in Baie-du-Febvre, famous for its bird watching.

This region has four rivers and five lakes. The great majority of them allow fishing and water sports, such as Lake Saint-Pierre nearby Nicolet, Lake William in Saint-Ferdinand, and Lake Nicolet a few kilometers south of Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens.

Festival goers and maple syrup lovers will enjoy the Festival de l'érable de Plessisville; music aficionados will rejoice at the Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville; and families will have a great time at the Festival du cochon de Sainte-Perpétue.
