Coronavirus pandemic: RE/MAX Québec supports agents in its network
Laval, Québec, March 27, 2020 //
The real estate brokerage sector is deeply impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Québec’s largest real estate broker network, RE/MAX Québec rigorously implemented governmental guidances, closing its offices and scaling down its operations as a way to contribute to the collective effort.
To support its network’s 4,107 agents during this slowdown in business, RE/MAX Québec has decided to suspend royalty fee payment for April.
“We wanted to provide tangible support and some relief to all of our team members, who work hard to offer clients exceptional service and expertise. Although these are difficult circumstances, our agents remain available to serve their clients, many of whom have sold their property and must find new housing,” said Pierre Titley, President of RE/MAX Québec.
RE/MAX Québec encourages the public to follow government guidelines and keep house hunting by visiting its website.
Technological tools make it possible for agents to continue to perform tasks, such as real estate transactions, without meeting clients in person.

While we must all respond to the growing threat posed by the spread of COVID-19, the RE/MAX network is taking the situation very seriously and will adapt its actions based on government recommendations. In particular, we have set up a special management unit that meets every day to make the best decisions in your common interest.
Priority: Your Needs and Safety!
We would like to inform you of the measures we have implemented to meet the needs of each of you while ensuring your health and safety as well as those of brokers.
First of all, we wish to inform you that our agencies offer STRICT minimum limited access only in order to contribute to the social and moral effort to limit the spread of the virus. Rest assured that our brokers will continue to work as efficiently as possible, taking into consideration the constraints associated with this exceptional situation. We already have the necessary infrastructure, work tools and technology to work effectively, such as videoconferencing, electronic signature, email and electronic document management to support you in your transaction based on your concerns. Contact your broker before visiting any agency.
Preventive Measures and Action Plan
The issue of property visits and customer meetings is the subject of particular attention within our network. RE/MAX has taken all necessary steps to limit meetings and visits only to those that are essential, as strongly recommended by the government.
In the event that a meeting needs to take place, we have provided our brokers with a series of safety instructions to implement:
- Our brokers will adopt strict health rules in accordance with those recommended by the authorities (avoid handshakes, keep a minimum distance of two meters, do not touch any objects during a visit, clean door handles before and after, etc.)
- Limit meetings to the minimum number of people
- And, of course, all present must respond negatively to the following two questions:
- Have you travelled outside of Canada in the past two weeks?
- Have you or have you had flu-related symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing) in the past two weeks, or have you been in contact with someone with or experiencing these symptoms?
In closing, given the importance of this situation in Quebec, we reiterate that we take this unprecedented situation very seriously. All recommended actions are taken to prevent further spread of the virus.
Everyone’s safety is our priority. Together, let’s take care of all of us.
Don’t hesitate to contact your broker, they are there for you!!
