Discover Côte-Nord

The Côte-Nord region is located northwest of the province and takes up nearly a quarter of Québec's surface area. It has a population of a little less than 95,000 inhabitants, and it reaches the border of the 50th parallel. Most of its population lives on the shoreline of the river and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Sept-Îles, the most densely populated city, is the social and economic hub of the region. You can find all the services and attractions of an urban centre nearby a vast territory, which boasts an exceptional flora and fauna.

Côte-Nord benefits from about 20 rivers and 40 lakes, including the Manicouagan River and Lake Manic-Cinq. In fact, many of these stretches of water are used to produce hydroelectricity.

Outdoor lovers keen on spectacular sceneries will be ecstatic since the Côte-Nord is teeming with parks, bicycle paths, beaches and wildlife reserves, such as Réserve du parc national de l'Archipel-de-Mingan in Havre-Saint-Pierre and Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier. Daring adventure seekers will be able to practice undersea diving, ocean kayak and dogsledding. As for hunting and fishing enthusiasts, they will enjoy the 30 outfitters and half a dozen controlled zones in Sacré-Coeur, Forestville, Baie-Comeau, Godbout and Les Escoumins, just to name a few.

The architectural heritage of the Côte-Nord consists of several buildings listed among the Québec Cultural Heritage Register. For instance, the Maison Johan-Beetz is a Second Empire style residence located in Baie-Johan-Beetz. As for the 'Pointe-des-Monts Lighthouse', it was erected in 1830 in Baie-Trinité.

The breathtaking sceneries of local municipalities will delight anyone who is interested in buying a permanent home or second residence in the region. From the charm of Île d'Anticosti to the tranquility of Tadoussac and the splendour of Blanc-Sablon, everyone will find a home that measures up to their dreams.
